Coping with Grief & Loss Workshop
Coming to terms with loss and dealing with grief is always difficult to navigate as grief is an extremely personal subject with many complex emotions involved.
Merthyr Cluster and Valleys Steps have worked together to provide a new workshop to those suffering from grief or loss. The workshop is designed help patients confront and manage their grief using healthy strategies.
What does the workshop involve?
The workshop will take place in a group setting and will go through a range of subjects during the course of 90 minutes. These subjects include:
- What is loss?
- What are the different types of loss?
- What is grief?
- Myths about grief and loss
- Cultural differences towards grief
- The five stages of grief
- How can we cope with grief and loss?
The session will also signpost patients to additional services if further support is required. This includes help from registered charities Cruse Bereavement Care and AtaLoss.
How do I access the workshop?
The workshop is held by Valleys Steps, but you can register your interest by calling your GPSO located at your surgery. They can provide you with all the details on any upcoming sessions that you can register for.
